Thank you for supporting our concert ukulele launch! We're extremely excited to be making another ukulele, and the concert ukulele is such a fun little instrument. We've got some exciting updates for you!
KLOS Guitars recently purchased a Plek machine, which for those of you who don't know, is a very sophisticated instrument machine that helps with leveling a fretboard, polishing frets, filing a nut, and filing a saddle to ensure scientifically perfect playability. You can read more about Plek machines here: www.plek.com. You can also see a short video we filmed on our Instagram here. AND what is most exciting about this? We will be Plek'ing all of the concert ukuleles purchased through this Kickstarter campaign, for FREE. This is usually a $200 service at select guitar shops that have a Plek machine, which is pretty rare to begin with.
We're also very proud to announce a new material we are starting to work with. We are calling it Carbon Timber, and it is a nickel coated carbon fiber material that looks like wood, but is still 100% composite. This material is very difficult to produce, but we have found that it sounds incredible when applied to instruments, producing a whole new level of lower-end frequencies. We'll be launching the material with our guitars soon on our website, but we are first launching it here with the concert ukulele. There are 10 units available in a new reward.
